Volunteer Opportunity Description


Job Summary:

The Sports Program Intern will gain valuable experience in the management of sports. The Sports Program Intern will collaborate in delivering, organizing, and administering program support to achieve benchmarks related to their specific internship requirements and branch needs. Sports programming spreads across the metro Twin Cities and the intern will network and build relationships with sports professionals throughout the Association.


Essential Functions: (Key Responsibilities)

  • Organize, deliver, and administer sports leagues, tournaments, recreation programs, and activities with the Sports Staff.
  • Use YMCA guidelines to instruct and coach youth sports programming.
  • Research competitor sports programs targeting youth and adults.
  • Build relationships with program participants, families, and members.
  • Develop knowledge in management of program budgets.
  • Implement sports marketing strategies

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Will require bending, light lifting, and physical mobility.
  • May require standing for long periods.
