Volunteer Opportunity Description


      Volunteer Summary:

    The LIVESTRONG volunteer position supports program developed and established in partnership with the LIVESTRONG Foundation, assists those who are living with, through, or beyond cancer to strengthen their spirit, mind and body.


    Volunteer General Responsibilities:

    Build relationship with the cancer survivor, developing trust with maturity, understanding, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Work one-on-one with cancer survivor to help them regain their physical and mental strength. Skills necessary to perform assigned responsibilities. Chart survivor’s daily accomplishments.








      Volunteer Qualifications/Requirements: 

      Commitment to attend 12 weeks of session meetings. LIVESTRONG Volunteers must attend an orientation session. Good verbal and written communication skills. Confidential with shared information during session group discussions.  Dedicated to member safety and the mission and philosophy of the YMCA Volunteer application Face-to-face interview

      • Reference Check
      • Signed Code of Conduct
      • Completion of online New Volunteer Orientation (NVO)

      This volunteer opportunity represents the primary needs identified at this time but is not intended to be all-inclusive. The volunteer will also be responsible for taking direction from their supervisor or other designated YMCA team member.
