Operations Lead

Job Description

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This position will be coordinating the orders and paperwork for the Freight department and truck lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
•Obtain orders from front office and prioritize for shippers
•Maintain daily error paperwork
•Assist manager with review of errors
•Communicate with manager, sales, and customer service regarding daily pace
•Coordinate outbound shipments
•Assist with daily production paperwork
•Assist with checking orders and loading
•Occasional filling of orders
•Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by warehouse manger and supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position has no supervisor/non-supervisor direct reports. 

Requirements

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Forklift certified
PC experience including Microsoft Office programs preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
