Accounting Coordinator

Job Description

 

Primary responsibility:

Responsible for the filing for new business licenses as well as renewing current ones. We have a business license website that tracks when units are coming due that will help with the management it. They will work closely with St. Louis tax department to ensure we don’t overlap license requests.

Assist Accounting manager with the organization of sales tax audit requests.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Statement reconciliations
  • Assist AP with the mailing of checks on check run day
  • Filing
  • Front desk duties when needed
  • Compile monthly analysis schedules for month end review process

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Process TSG general accounts receivables and non-inventory payables
•Vendor billing and receivables, including collections efforts
•Assist with month end reporting/processes
•Assist with customer pricing/profile/tax reconciliation
•Complete credit applications/credit references/tax exemption certificates
•Project audits – adjustments/transfers/replacements/margins, etc.
•Understand and assist with daily operational functions, physical inventories, and monthly financial statement generation
•Complete other special assignments as directed by the Business Manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

•Professional telephone voice and manner
•Good interpersonal skills
•General accounting experience
•Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
•Good mathematic and reasoning skills
•Microsoft PC spreadsheet and word processing experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, and hear. The employee will occasionally be required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb and balance. The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds. Employee will need close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be exposed to moderate noise levels (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
