Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for arranging coverage for current shifts and related functions.

Job Functions

  1. Assists with arranging nursing coverage for current shifts based on established guidelines and needs.
  2. Accepts and records absenteeism calls, notifies supervisors and appropriate department, and secures replacements as directed.
  3. Collects and reports statistics.
  4. Assembles and maintains hard copy physician order documents.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical center/health care office
  • 1 year staffing/scheduling experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Software and Kronos
