Talent Acquisition Coordinator

As Talent Acquisition Coordinator and member of the Talent & Organizational Development team, you are one of the first connections our candidates have with Genesco.  You will assist in tracking all Talent Acquisition activities and progress from requisition through to offer acceptance.  You will prepare candidate correspondence, support and handle interview scheduling and in some cases, arrange travel.  Since you touch almost all aspects of the talent acquisition process, we look to you to identify opportunities for efficiency, along with opportunities to improve both our brand and candidate experience.  You will partner with Talent Acquisition members and other members of our HR team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains all active job requisitions and applicant data files via Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and external posting tools (CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, Dice, etc.)
  • Communicates internal job postings through company intranet, company newsletter, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Sources active candidates from online databases, contact lists, internal databases, and employee referrals
  • Interviews and screens applicants for availability, interest level, education, experience, training, job skills, salary requirements, relocation needs, and basic qualifications 
  • Checks credentials and references and schedules multi-person onsite interviews
  • Completes onboarding and new hire processes to include candidate follow up to ensure onboarding tasks are completed on time, including new employee orientation
  • Maintain ongoing communication with hiring managers and potential talent throughout recruitment process to ensure both receive exceptional customer service
  • Develops and maintains relationships with local colleges & university career centers and participates in career fairs to create a pipeline of entry level talent
  • Assists in Conducting Exit Interviews
  • Supports Distribution Center recruiting efforts 
  • Performs administrative functions associated with the relocation process
  • Provides reporting for use in forecasting and planning talent pipeline requirements, measuring recruiting efficacy, and Affirmative Action Plan/OFCCP compliance
  • Coordinates specific projects as determined in the HR planning process and participates in functional and cross-functional initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements


Education and Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in recruiting
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, with Kronos experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Exemplary Customer Service skills/orientation
