To produce all bakery goods and other related products in an efficient manner within Company Policy.  To ensure that the shift contributes to the financial best interests of the store.

Job Title:         Catering Manager

Department:   Catering

Reports To:     Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager

 

 

Job Purpose:

 

The Catering Manager position requires facilitating effective communication between all departments in order to provide the best catering experience for the customer. Must have pleasant phone manners, and be sales motivated. Must effectively lead the Catering Department by training all Catering Clerks/Drivers about job operations, product knowledge, sales skills, and providing the best customer service in the industry. Able to create efficient department schedules on the company’s workforce management software that aligns with payroll budgets. Is an effective communicator and can develop organized plans alongside Store Management during peak times such as the holidays. Understands the importance of maintaining a clean environment, including the catering desk, storage areas, and vehicles. Must be able to perform all aspects of the department such as sales calls, sales meetings, catering management software, troubleshooting, driving/delivery, and working the sales desk. Appointment to this position may result in Store Transfer.

 

 

Initial Minimum Qualifications:

 

  1. Must be 21 years of age;
  2. Complete training in the catering operation.
  3. Demonstrate capability to interact with customers, vendors and associates.
  4. Capable of following verbal directions.
  5. Must be able to read and write English adequately.
  6. Ability to speak, understand and follow English instructions.
  7. Valid mass. License to make deliveries as needed

       

 

Primary (Essential) Job Functions:

  1. Greet, assist and thank all customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business-like manner.
  2. Commit to the “Golden Rule” and work with other associated to build a strong catering team.
  3. Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is Respectful, Supportive and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO).
  4. Be sure to operate and clean department equipment and tools.
  5. Telemarketing – generate potential customers.
  6. Go out of your way to satisfy any request for assistance; phone sales and in store sales, sales follow up, thank you cards and phone calls.
  7. Maintain a neat personal appearance including proper uniform.
  8. Order coordination at store level for customer pickup and delivery
  9. Practice the “Cleaner’s Creed” and proper sanitation procedures.
  10. Communicate to customers about delivery schedule changes in a timely fashion.
  11. Handle various sales and service functions at the catering desk.
  12. Email ALL Customer Invoices daily.
  13. Computer order entry and processing.
  14. Making Department Schedule/ meeting payroll budgets
  15. Delivery scheduling and delivery driver coordination.
  16. Coordination of outsourced vendors (service/equipment rentals).
  17. Maintaining daily equipment log with scheduled recovery.
  18. Reviewing Catering Vehicle Inspection Log weekly.
  19. In charge of checking daily orders for proper pricing.
  20. Review unpaid orders/Q Buster reports to ensure all orders are paid.
  21. Generate Next Day Order Report daily with department managers.
  22. Work order coordination for department managers.
  23. Ensure company standards of safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, temperature logs and productivity are achieved.
  24. Keep sales and work area are swept clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report hazards to management.
  25. Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.
  26. Manager must be Serve Safe and Allergen Certified.
  27. Ordering all supplies for catering.
  28. Communicate to Store Manager any customer issues or concerns.
  29. Required to assist other stores when needed.

 

 

Secondary Job Functions:

 

1.      Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene, and a business attitude and professional image at all times.

2.      Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement.

3.      May be required to attend Food Shows and large Catering Functions.

4.      May be required to deliver catering orders if driver is unavailable.

5.      Successful completion of the passbook training within 60 days of entering the department.

6.      Other duties as assigned by management.

 

 

Job Standards:

 

Operate the catering department including the various sales and service functions at the catering desk according to company and department standards; ensuring that the shift contributes to the financial best interests of the store.  Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
