Night Crew Utility Clerk

Location: Wheaton, IL (Ultra Foods 501 S. County Farm Rd.)

 

Summary:  Position is responsible for responding to customers, assisting other staff, cleaning, stacking off pallets

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Night Crew Utility Clerk activities:  85 percent of time

  • Assists night crew stockers
  • Stocks merchandise
  • Faces merchandise in the store
  • Answers calls for price checks
  • Empties bins of boxes/trash from night stockers
  • Operates baler
  • Operates trash compactor
  • Operates lifts

Other activities:  15 percent of time

  • Climbs ladders/stair tower to restock and clean
  • Bags groceries
  • Collects carts
  • Cleans restrooms and wet/dry spills
  • Cuts open boxes

 

ACTIVITY, KNOWLEDGE, AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking with standing is required for entire shift (not including breaks)
  • Bending is required approximately 30% of the shift to reach merchandise from carts/floor and to restock
  • Push and pulling carts with product, bins of trash is required approximately 20% during the shift
  • Crouching or kneeling is required approximately 20% of the shift to restock merchandise in the store
  • Normal physical strength to handle up to 10-pound object, frequently -- up to 30 lbs is lifted 6-8 times per shift.  Some items weigh up to 40 lbs. to be handled occasionally.
  • Normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot
  • Above average endurance
  • Normal dexterity of hands and fingers with above average repetition
  • Average coordination, including eye-hand
  • Sight with ability to distinguish color; perception of sound is required

Knowledge Requirements:

A positive customer service attitude & pleasant personality, effective memory skills, good hand eye coordination, dependability, ability to follow directions & a strong willingness to learn.

Average Hours Per Week:   20 – 39 hours per week

Hours Employee Must Be Available:   10 p.m. -- 12 a.m., Monday thru Sunday
