TEAP Specialist (Substance Abuse) (Part-Time)

Location: Miami Gardens, FL (Miami Jcc 09-14)

 

General Summary

Develops and implements Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Program which includes assessment, intervention, counseling, relapse prevention, prevention and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provides TEAP orientation and training.
  • Conducts TEAP assessments, develops intervention plans, and makes referrals for identified students.
  • Develops, implements, and facilitates TEAP prevention groups and programs.
  • Provides counseling, relapse prevention, and prevention education.
  • Networks with center staff and community agencies to provide support services to students.
  • Assists in developing center operating procedures for program components.
  • Works with the CMHC, Center Physician, Health Services staff and other designed staff to ensure intervention components are fully understood and integrated in the center.
  • Works in conjunction with the Recreation Department to assist in developing leisure activities and incentives to reinforce TEAP lifestyle.
  • Acts as liaison to CMHC and Center Standards Officer for TEAP issues.
  • Performs quality assurance record audits.
  • Participates in department system for student feedback and concerns.
  • Maintains TEAP statistics for quarterly reporting to DOL.
  • Assures collection and handling comply with chain of custody procedures.
  • Supports Center Tobacco Use Prevention Program through education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorially.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, sklill, and/or ability required.  One or two years related experience and/or training is necessary.

Education

Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and training.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certificate from a recognized state or national credentialing board for drug and/or alcohol counseling.
