FACILITY - Maintenance Mechanic PT

Job Description

 

GENERAL FUNCTION: 

Assist Branch Facility Director with several maintenance issues at the branch.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist in performing routine/corrective repair of roof top HVAC unit.
Assist in performing routine/corrective repair on basement Boiler systems as well as basement Chilled water systems.
Assist in performing minor plumbing repairs.
Perform general maintenance repairs from cleaning, painting, and/or repairing as instructed by Branch Facility Director.
Assist in loading/unloading of equipment to be used at the branch, and assist in installation/setup of various pieces of sports equipment, bleachers,  and lighting standards, under the supervision of Branch Facility Director.
Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of the YMCA facility including grounds and parking lot.
Work closely with contracted cleaning service to ensure building is clean.

Must inspect facility for cleanliness and needed repairs and take necessary corrective actions.
Should be able to incorporate the YMCA Mission in daily job activities and be able to articulate the mission to members.                                                                                                                                               
Reports and resolves building problems.
May order maintenance and janitorial supplies and equipment.
May set up furniture for special events.
 

Requirements

 

KNOW HOW:
Three years or more of related experience in general maintenance work.  
Must be 18 years or older.  
Must be able to lift 75 lbs
Must be able to lift 75 lbs
Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
Ability to perform tasks under the direction/supervision of Branch Facility Director.
Substantial experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing and general building systems.
Must be able to handle multiple projects at once. Must be able to develop relationships with members.
Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner.
Ability to read labels.
Ability to stay alert to potential safety and security problems.
Ability to carry out instructions independently.
