WELLNESS - Group Exercise Coordinator

We are currently taking applications for an enthusiastic individual to be the Group Exercise Coordinator. This position is under the direction of the Wellness Director and is responsible for hiring, scheduling, training, supervising, and evaluating all employee and volunteer group exercise instructors and contracted specialty instructors for the Wellness Department. This position is responsible for evaluating the quality of the Group Exercise Department, members’ needs and enhancing the program accordingly. He/she will assist in creating and monitoring the annual budget and expenses including payroll. The coordinator will participate in monthly wellness challenges and will be expected to stay up to date on their knowledge of upcoming group excercise trends. He/she will oversee the maintenance of fitness eqipment and inventory control of program supplies. Willingness to assist Wellness Director with additional duties as required. He/she will train and/or teach five hours or less a week on a regular basis or as needed. to be a part of wellness monthly challenges and continued growth and knowledge of upcoming group exercise trends. 





Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Must hold a current group exercise certification from one of the following groups: American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) or Cooper Institute.

Must have 3+ years of practical experience in health and wellness preferred.

Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing to individuals and small groups. Must be able to build rapport and relationships with all instructors and members.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, demonstrate all cardiovascular and weight machines, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be enthusiastic and exude a desire to motivate and help others to improve their level of professionalism through growth and development in the fitness industry.

Must be proficient in window based programs i.e. Word, Excel and Publisher.

Must be able to receive and maintain CPR, first aid, AED, blood borne pathogen, child abuse training certifications.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Four-year college degree in Exercise Science or related field of study or working on degree preferred.
