YOUTH - Imagine Science Group Leader

Job Description


We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity to work in the Imagine Science Program as a Group Leader. The Group Leader will closely supervise a group of middle school youth in both outreach and school based programming, and schedule and facilitate activities; such supervision will consist of visual and auditory awareness as well as a pattern of circulating among the youth.  Will be responsible for maintaining minimum number of materials needed to adequately serve all youth participating in Imagine Science.  Will be completely responsible for the safety and well-being of each youth in your group; must quickly move to attend to injured or ill child (be able to lift or carry if necessary) and initiate first aid procedures.  Will keep an accurate daily count of the youth in your group multiple times each day, particular during transition time and will be responsible for data and attendance tracking. Will attend all scheduled training sessions, staff meetings, and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Project Manager during the year.  Will assist in set-ups and clean-ups.  Will report any illness or injury of a child or staff to supervisor immediately following incident.  Will report suspected child abuse to supervisor and fill out all documentation and will follow site specific job Duties.  Must be professional in working and interactions with youth, co-workers, school and community.  Must portray characteristics of a role model to youth. 

Summer program will run from June 3rd through August 2th, Mon-Fri. There will be a few weekend trainings. 



Must be at least 18 years of age with proof of age. High school graduate Preferred. Relates well to middle school age youth boys and girls. Must complete required staff training prior to working with youth. Ability to stand for long periods of time.  Ability to adjust from sitting to standing with ease.  Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs. Experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) related field or studies preferred.
