Facilities Maintenance Technician

 

Position Summary:

The facilities maintenance technician is responsible for repairs to the building and outside grounds. As a facilities technician you will be subjected to being on call on the weekends in case of an emergency situation.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform manufactures recommended preventive maintenance (PM) on dock levers, evaporator coils, refrigeration units, and door seals to minimize the possibility of a breakdown.
  • Follow all of required use of personal protective (PPE), hot work permits, monthly lanyard inspections, lockout tagout, and general safety regulations set forth by Sygma’s safety department and OSHA.
  • Ensure that any repairs made don’t violate any state, national, local, or any industrial codes and within manufactures’ instructions and recommendations.

  • Must have experience with all industrial related systems – plumbing, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and HVAC.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed or required.
  • Must be dependable, consistently at work on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Trade School Degree in HVAC preferred
  • EPA certification preferred
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years related industrial maintenance and facilities mechanic experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have good written and verbal communications skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

MATH SKILLS:
Must have the ability to count, read numbers, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat and lift objects up to 50lbs. Must be able to climb a ladder.

WORK ENVIROMENT:
Regularly exposed to a combination of both general office and warehouse environments which represent exposure to extreme temperature changes.
