Independent Diversified Transportation, IDT, is looking for a results-oriented individual to dispatch petroleum tanker trucks to Holiday Stationstores from our Newport Terminal in the St. Paul area. This position requires a high level of customer service, excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and strong computer skills.


JOB SUMMARY: Dispatching petroleum tanker trucks to Holiday Stationstores 



  • Ability to inspect and verify information for accuracy, paying close attention to details.
  • Schedule and communicate transport deliveries with drivers to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Answer telephone calls from drivers regarding unloading problems, maintenance, and emergencies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend information from charts, graphs and diagrams.
  • Ability to think logically and make appropriate decisions in routine and non-routine situations.
  • Plan, schedule, organize and prioritize work activities.
  • Collect, analyze and enter data into various reports.
  • Perform various terminal tasks such as:
  • Monitoring inventory reporting systems to verify incoming and outgoing products are moving through the pipeline to detect any possible problems.
  • Open pipeline valves to regulate the flow of products into and out of tanks.
  • Walk around inspections to identify any potential risks.





  • Associates degree. (business, logistics, transportation preferred)
    • Or equivalent work experience.



  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Some dispatch experience a must.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • PC skills (Microsoft Office) a must.
