Member Account Specialist - Full Time


The Member Account Specialist is responsible for auditing membership records, managing accounts receivable and maintaining member accounts. 

Essential Functions

  • Conducts audits of member accounts to determine compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains member accounts by entering incomplete and inaccurate information.
  • Ensures health incentives, account returns, special membership reimbursements are complete.
  • Analyzes data, conducts research and prepares ongoing branch status reports for management.
  • Communicates with branch team members concerning invoices, collections, refunds and membership status.
  • Supports team members in Member Services in coaching and training on member account issues.



Qualifications - Required

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in administrative work
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in branch member services, customer service or related area
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to process a large volume of work
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be organized and have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make decisions, set priorities and work as a team
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse population
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Experience working with Personify
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Russian, Somali and Hmong)
  • Experience in auditing, collections, or bookkeeping

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites
