LIDS Sports Group Internship Program

The LIDS Sports Group Internship Program offers students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a variety of professional disciplines. In order to be considered for any internship position, applicants must be rising college sophomores through graduate school students.

Program Description:
LIDS Sports group offers a college internship program that provides a 10-week full-time summer internship opportunity with preference given for students pursuing degrees in Retail Management, Accounting/Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Business and Fashion Merchandising. During their internship, students will work at the LIDS Corporate Office in Zionsville, IN under the guidance of mentors while engaging in real career-related activities. Students will have the opportunity to present their business project to the LIDS Leadership team and other key members of the organization that summarizes their experiences and business recommendations at the end of each program.  The program is designed to complement and expand the students’ classroom education and offers an opportunity to gain marketable career experience.


What to Expect as a Retail Customization Intern:

Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with various teams within the Retail Customization Department to gain a comprehensive understanding of various customization program opportunities and sales development, reporting, and processes for optimizations and improvements in customization.

Projects and responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Retail Customization teams and licensees to assess the current performance of the Greek, Collegiate Custom and other licensed programs to assess sales performance, helping explore and plan ways to improve sales in these programs.
  • Help analyze the “on-demand” business opportunities in store and on, including identifying potential opportunities.  Help determine potential sales of programs based on current offerings.
  • Performing a SWOT analysis of the Custom Zone on to gain a better understanding of our custom website and how it compares to competitor sites
  • Evaluate current marketing efforts and explore new ways to introduce custom content to customers.
  • Assess viability of back end systems for customization, including ADMIN order management, SharePoint, and other custom related systems. 
  • Coordinating with other interns and team members on projects

Minimum Requirements



For consideration to participate in the internship program, an applicant must have a 3.0 GPA and either a full-time student pursuing a baccalaureate or higher degree in a business-related field at an accredited college/university or attending an accredit 2-year college/university. A selected student must begin the internship on one of the scheduled dates listed below:

  • Summer 2019 Start/End Dates:  June 3rd– August 9th, 2019


Internship students will be paid hourly. LIDS Sports Group Internship Program does not provide any housing allocation. Participants are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.


Students may apply for an internship on starting October 2019.
