Job Functions

1.            Responsible for ensuring and managing all quality systems in place for the day to day production and storage of quality products manufactured under clean, safe, and wholesome conditions.

2.            Assures quality conformance to specification and expectation for all products and processes.

3.            Learns the processes in depth and work with quality assurance/operations for trouble shooting quality issues.

4.            Work with Quality Systems Manager for continuous improvement initiatives for product quality.

5.            Performs rapid decision making and corrective actions for ensuring the production of high quality products.

6.            Ensures proper grading of product and completes required paperwork in accordance with SOPs.

7.            Ensures proper grading of raw materials for plant and Field Department.

8.            Learns product grading in detail and trains/monitors Quality Technician’s grading performance.

9.            Performs regrading and hold decisions in accordance with the facilities SOP.

10.          Schedules Quality Technicians for the fresh pack and repack operation following the requirements of the Kronos system.

11.          Responsible for training new employees in Quality Assurance policies and procedures.

12.          Verifies performance of Quality Technicians (i.e. conformance to specifications, understanding and effectiveness, and corrective action communication).

13.          Oversees calibration of equipment and maintains documentation.

14.          Executes BRC programs at the front line / production floor level.

15.          Follows and enforces all Company policies and procedures, which include SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.  Disciplines subordinates when non-compliance occurs.

16.          Complies with all regulations relating to food safety and personnel safety such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, and TOSHA.

17.          Complies with all other regulations and laws affecting the company (business law, trade secrets, personnel practices etc.).

18.          Proficient in computer systems such as Excel, Microsoft Word, AS400 system.

19.          Responsible to assure grades from QLR follow directives by responsible parties.

20.          Monitor Repack Detail and assist in coordination of product.

21.          Monitor the usage of aged inventory in Warehouse.

Minimum Requirements

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  Must have Bachelor’s Degree if less than five years’ supervisory experience.

EXPERIENCE: Must have five years’ experience as a supervisor in manufacturing, quality assurance, or food environment.  A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for experience.
