Description

 

Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences (SLCHS) in Kansas City, Missouri invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost. The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer of the institution, reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, and is responsible for the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Provost is a senior level academic who is responsible for direction and oversight of the academic enterprise of the College. He/she will guide and oversee the current academic portfolio; the development, implementation and accreditation of new academic degree and non-degree offerings; and the College’s assessment-related activities. In addition, he/she will be responsible leading the College’s research/extramural funding initiative, and implementing and expanding continuing/extended education and business-academic partnerships. The Provost works closely with the President, Cabinet and faculty in implementing and evaluating academic operations, research, service and patient care programs.

The Provost will be responsible for direction and oversight of the academic enterprise of the College; assist the College President in supporting the academic vision and leadership to advance and support excellence in teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and engagement and stewardship for the institution; set the overall academic priorities and work closely with the Deans and Chief Financial Officer to prepare and manage a budget sufficient to support the academic mission of the College. They will also coordinate all academic functions of the institution with the areas of student affairs, facilities, development and finances; provide leadership and guidance to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness in all assessment-related activities; design and implement initiatives and strategies to enhance educational programs and student success. The Provost is responsible for overseeing processes of appointment and promotion of faculty members and program/track directors; serving on the College’s faculty and administrative committees as appropriate; and facilitating and where applicable, lead faculty meetings, advisory committee meetings and curriculum review meetings;

Minimum Requirements

 

The successful candidate will have earned a doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution, possess a record of teaching and scholarly activity, and possess a substantial record of effective administrative experience at the Dean’s level or above. The Dean of Nursing, Dean of Health Sciences and Registrar are direct reports to the Provost.
