General Purpose

Provide support for the company’s workers compensation claims program to facilitate positive results for injured employees and for the company; and to provide administrative support for Risk Department projects and tasks as needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report claims timely to the insurance company.
  • Ensure timely and adequate medical care for employees.
  • Handle Medical-Only worker’s compensation claims to closure.
  • Serve as primary point of contact to help injured employees with work comp benefits.
  • Facilitate relationships with doctors and clinics.
  • Oversee claims adjuster work product to keep claims on track for positive results.
  • Act as liaison between management, claims adjuster and employee
  • Administer policies and procedures for employees that have filed a worker’s compensation claim.
  • Generate end-of-month insurance management reports.
  • Arrange quarterly claim reviews to include reports by adjusters
  • Monitor new claim activity to identify adverse trends and work with safety personnel and management to address
  • Review RFPs for compliance with insurance and bonding requirements.  Supply evidence of compliance with these requirements.
  • Process bond changes and maintain information regarding surety bond program.
  • Maintain company’s insurance underwriting information as assigned by Risk Manager.
  • Issue and distribute certificates of insurance and identification cards from various insurance policies.
  • Assist with various administrative items for the finance team including but not limited to processing Non-Disclosure Agreements, sending financial statements and coordinating bank account set up.
  • Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned by the Risk Manager.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous worker’s compensation adjusting and/or related experience preferred
  • Previous customer service and/or related experience preferred
  • Management level written and oral communication skills
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Ability to type 45 wpm
