Description

 

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Naturalist/Instructor provides leadership and instruction in Outdoor Environmental Education; adventure learning, teen leadership, belaying and ropes course facilitation, group camping/family camping and conferences.  Naturalists/Instructors participate in staff training, resulting in successful ability to teach the majority of classes and activities for OEE program with an understanding of background information and theory.

Minimum Requirements

 

Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years and have a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and a BS/BA related degree and/or equivalent experience with youth/families in recreational or educational settings preferred. Current Lifeguard Certification or the ability to acquire is a plus.  CPR and First Aid certifications will be part of staff training and are required by the start of programming.   Successful candidates must be able to effectively operate in a team atmosphere.
