The YMCA of Greater Hartford is a non-profit organization committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  We are currently seeking a Gymnastic Program Coordinator to join the Farmington Valley YMCA team.  This position has responsibility for developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to support our Gymnastic programs and services.  In addition to some administrative duties such as scheduling and lesson planning.  Two years Gymnastic experience required.   1. Must have Gymnastics expertise or background.
  2. Will directly oversee the Gymnastics Recreation and Team program, Parkour, Dance, gymnastics camp and any additional programming.
  3. Must have experience working with youth.
  4. Experience with administrative tasks such as scheduling, planning, lessons plans and program development.
  5. Will directly oversee 10-15 staff members
  6. Budgetary experience is a plus, but not required.
  7. Team player and eager to grow develop and expand programming.
  8. Strong organizational, communication and verbal skills
  9. Able to work afternoons, evenings and some weekends.
  10. Support the Youth Development Director with the administration of all Youth Development programming
  11. Building supervision responsibilities and other duties as assigned by supervisor
  12. Be visibly involved w/ members, volunteers and staff in a positive, friendly manner that communicates and demonstrates the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  13. Follows all established policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safety practices and personnel policies.
  14. Participate in and support association events and fund raising activities.
  15. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  16. Secure required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position.
  17. Travel required- 25% to trainings or gymnastics competitions.




Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  2. Two years Gymnastic experience required 
  3. Two years or more successful experience in sales including prospecting, marketing, closing, retention and customer service activities.
  4. Previous supervisory experience in service industry
  5. Must be able to read, and write legibly and in an understandable manner
  6. Must be able to effectively communicate with and observe program participants, members and YMCA staff.
  7. Travel – 25 %


Physical Requirements:

The employee is expected to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include, a frequent amount of sitting, standing and walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.  Lifting requirement of the position may be greater depending on the particular job to be performed (i.e. aquatics, child care).
