This position is full-time, nonexempt, classified and covered under the Superior Court Employee Handbook.  This is an employee-at-will position.

Hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and as needed; overtime as required

Under the direction of the Executive Assistant, the Court Services Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to the Court Executive and Director of Court Operations in a high volume metropolitan court setting with special emphasis on managing interpreter services, statistics, grant management and civil marriage scheduling.


  • Responsible for coordinating foreign language and deaf interpreter services for court cases and jury trials spanning three divisions of Superior Court.  Arranges for translation of defendant’s rights to be viewed on DVD and forms to be used or read in court proceedings.
  • Processes all Guardian Ad Litem and Pauper Attorney claims in Quest; while additionally processing Guardian Ad Litem claims for payment.
  • Assists in the preparation of grant applications.
  • Handles all requests for attorney badges to allow attorneys access to court facilities with cell phones and any other electronic devices.
  • Updates and maintains OSHA Standards Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.  Coordinates annual required blood-borne pathogens training for all Superior Court employees
  • Assists Executive Assistant and Director of Court Operations with daily office duties and special projects, including preparing documents and statistical reports, typing memos, organizing and distributing mail, and filing.
  • Processes all Superior Court civil wedding requests and provides prospective couple with information. Schedules, coordinates and distributes requests.  Maintains marriage information records.
  • Perform other administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, assisting office visitors, and scheduling appointments.
  • Manages audio/visual services for the court.
  • Performs duties in the absences of the Executive Assistant and/or jury management staff.
  • Maintains and inventories office supplies for the Administrative Office and Family Division.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, including overtime as required.

Minimum Requirements and Working Conditions



  • High School Diploma or GED and more than a year of customer service experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in order to effectively prioritize work
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office and other job related software
  • Strong customer service skills in order answer phones and assist office visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work amidst frequent distractions, interruptions and pressure from formal deadlines
  • Ability to calmly respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to use computer, multi-line telephone, copier, scanner and other job related equipment
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation and submission techniques
  • Ability to type at least 40 WPM


The Court Services Specialist works in and out of an office setting with frequent sitting and the ability to move about freely.  Some lifting of up to twenty pounds, bending, pushing/pulling loads, kneeling and mental/visual effort exists and frequent reaching overhead, monitoring equipment and detailed inspection is required.  Very frequent typing, attention to detail and proofreading exists.
