You get it.  As an Sr Stormwater Professional, you’re a serious multi-tasker who lends your technical expertise and business savvy to obtain new projects/business and personally sees to the success of every project.  You work hard to exceed client expectations for quality and cost-effectiveness, and you coordinate project activities to complete every project on time and within budget.  At the end of the workday, you go home very satisfied knowing you’ve delivered solutions to clients that depend on you to resolve problems that range from very simple to very complex.

Responsibilities. Like every member of the Apex Team, your role as Sr Stormwater Professional is key to the company’s success.  While your responsibilities will vary day to day, in general you will often:

  • Lead successful business development of new clients and projects specifically in stormwater management and compliance within the Los Angeles/Orange County region for 1-2 years of your employment with Apex
  • Lead and support marketing efforts, project implementation, financial management of the business, and participation in professional organizations
  • Write and review technical proposals and prepare stormwater  project cost estimates
  • Prepare and deliver marketing presentations
  • Serve as senior technical lead on cumulative project total >$750K annually
  • Assist with project management activities
  • Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product
  • Actively develop your own career growth

Minimum Requirements

 

Great minds think alike!  Now that we understand each other, let’s sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering or other related field.
  • QSP, QSD, or QISP certification(s) required
  • CA PE and/or PG certification preferred
  • 5 years of experience in stormwater management, compliance, and related tasks
  • 10 years of experience providing environmental consulting services including technical writing, technical oversight, and project management for a variety of types of projects
  • Have the knowledge of and relationships with local and regional agencies
  • Demonstrated success in the management and delivery of projects and programs
  • Experience in the preparation of business/strategic plans
  • Ability to mentor and train staff
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Strong safety awareness and a good record and understanding of safe work practices
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
