Responsibilities. Like every member of the Apex Team, your role is key to the company’s success.  While the day-to-day responsibilities will vary, you will:

  • Use company truck to mobilize to client project sites;
  • Travel to project sites throughout the Pacific Northwest and adjoining states
  • Use company smart phone and technology to document your field activities;
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair stormwater BMPs, wastewater lift stations and other environmental systems;
  • Identify and diagnose equipment problems; scope and perform repairs;
  • Perform varied construction work including operation of hand-held, power and heavy equipment;
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractor activity.
  • Ensure safe work practices.
  • Achieve and maintain OSHA certifications (e.g., HazWoper, Confined-Space Entry)
  • Actively develop your own career path.

Minimum Requirements

 

Great minds think alike!  Now that we understand each other, let’s sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Thorough understanding of safe work practices in accordance with OSHA regulations; excellent driving record, and current OSHA credentials, including,
    • Confined-Space Entry
    • Excavation Safety/OSHA Competent Person
    • Electrical Safety (Lock Out/Tag Out and ARC flash)
    • OSHA 40-Hour HazWoper
    • First Aid/CCR
  • 5 or more years of construction experience including operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g. skip loader, backhoe, excavator) and hand tools.
  • Broad base of experience in areas such as, excavation, lift station maintenance, pump inspection/maintenance, petroleum tank (AST) experience.
  • Underground utility O&M experience including, excavation, repair and replace sewer and water lines
  • General carpentry and plumbing experience, along with experience with pumps, electrical controls, and varied environmental systems
  • Ability to work independently and provide subcontractor oversight.
  • Able to perform construction work including ability to Lift 60 lbs and work in Inclement Weather
  • Experience with pumps, electrical controls, and varied environmental systems, sediment/erosion control highly preferred.
