Job Title of Immediate Supervisor: Food Services Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Expected Start Date: April 2, 2018

As a Culinary Aide you will be responsible for serving resident meals in the dining area and assisting with daily food service functions to help ensure superior customer service and a pleasant dining experience.   This position also assists with kitchen clean-up activities including operating the dishwasher.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves resident meals in dining room or other common dining areas of the facility. 
  • Delivers meals to resident apartments upon request by Food Service Director or Cook on duty.
  • Sets and re-sets dining room tables before and after meals and any function held in the dining room.  This includes replacement of linens, silverware, glassware, condiments, etc. according to established protocol.
  • Prior to meals, ensures adequate table condiments including salt, pepper, sweeteners, creamers, relishes, etc.
  • Assists with salad bar food preparation and set-up as assigned.
  • Assists residents and guests as needed and / or requested to their tables, to their seats, and at the soup / salad bar.
  • Restocks soup / salad bar with food items as needed.
  • Prepares and serves beverages according to resident requests.
  • Washes dishes, pot and pans and assists with kitchen clean-up as assigned.
  • Assists with garbage removal as assigned.
  • Assists with periodic deep cleaning procedures in the dining room, kitchen, dietary storage rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Helps put away stock after food order delivery is received.
  • Observes all infection control standards including the wearing of hair nets, gloves, aprons, etc. and washes hands frequently.
