WEEKEND position

 

As a Housekeeper you will be responsible for cleaning assigned resident rooms and common areas in accordance with established procedures using approved cleaning products and methods. 

Principal Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintains the safety of residents, visitors, staff and others by keeping all hazardous products in area inaccessible to the public (such as locked room, cart or cabinet) when not attended or in use.
  • Reports repair need observations to appropriate supervisor as well as supply needs
  • Cleans resident rooms, common facility areas, bathroom and bathing areas, empties trash
  • Vacuum, mop and strip floors in resident rooms and/or common facility areas using institutional manual floor mops and/or heavy floor buffing machine
  • Performs special housekeeping tasks as assigned such as cleaning windows, draperies, cubicle curtains, vents, furniture, fixtures, hand rails, baseboards, equipment, etc. 
  • Provides assistance with resident room changes, including packing and transferring of resident belongings. 
  • When resident is transferred for discharged, performs approved “terminal” cleaning procedures to prepare room for next resident. 
  • Cleans resident dining areas as assigned after mealtimes to prepare clean and safe environment for next meal.  Included may be the removal of table linens and routing to laundry.  
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets using carpet cleaning equipment and approved chemical and procedures within approved time frames

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Institutional cleaning experience preferred                        
  • Desire and ability to work in residential building complex providing superior customer service to seniors
