Transportation Clerk-2nd shift

Job Description

 

Work Schedule:

This position requires flexibility; there are no daily set end times and some holidays will be required (inquire within).

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide support to the Transportation (Linehaul) Department in the day-to-day operations

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate daily with drivers regarding scheduled pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Monitor Sysco Manhattan system for review and acceptance of new loads and/or changes to existing loads.
  • Schedules delivery routes and linehaul routes; verify pickup and delivery of scheduled loads.
  • Break down and review driver’s paperwork; check route mileage report, fuel receipts, driver vehicle condition reports, and route driver manifest reports for accuracy.
  • Extensive use of MS Excel for tracking driver appointments and other linehaul functions.
  • Maintain proper files in accordance to company standards
  • Process necessary billing and invoicing of logistics loads/revenue weekly
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE        

High School diploma; office clerical, related Transportation experience a plus. MS Office:Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access strongly recommended. Experience with distribution logistics a plus.       

                                                                  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS                   

Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Must be able to communicate clearly, in a friendly and courteous manner.

 

MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS      

Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes, and at arm’s length, with or without correction.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS              

Most of the day is spent in a comfortable office environment

PC, calculator, copier and fax machine
