General Summary:

The Inventory Accountant I will be responsible for maintaining and recording business transactions, reconciling accounts, balancing ledgers, analyzing trends, explaining variances, and preparing schedules and/or reports. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares basic and some intermediate account reconciliations
  • Prepares schedules, reports , and ad-hoc projects
  • Prepares routine and one-time journal entries
  • Prepares physical inventory variance reports for field use
  • Reviews, processes, sets up, and reports warranty credits and warranty receivables.
  • Performs physical inventory postings and inventory corrections
  • Performs simple and complex inventory movements
  • Works with Wholesale and Retail field – customer service
  • Ensures compliance to internal controls and company and JSOX policies
  • Researches and documents the impact of more complex accounting principles
  • Assists in quarterly and year-end audits
  • Communicates effectively with senior financial management
  • Performs job with integrity and transparency
  • Other duties as assigned




Education & Experience


Education:           Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.



  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory, accounting, or related field
  • Intermediate systems knowledge
  • Ability to work under general supervision
  • Understand commonly used accounting and financial concepts and procedures
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Strong reconciliation and organizational skills
  • Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of current industry practices when solving business problems
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Identifies critical issues with ease
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with deadlines
