General Summary:

The Retail Special Projects Training Specialist will conduct both hands-on and classroom style training for special project initiates of Tire Kingdom, Merchants Tire & Auto and NTB (TBC Retail Group). The Retail Special Projects Training Specialist will use their own influence, knowledge and skills to drive behavior change towards new or focus sales and operational processes. They will work with various levels of retail management to evaluate training needs, identify roadblocks to performance improvement and develop action plans to move the initiatives forward.  

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates company training programs.
  • Directs structured learning experiences.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements a range of training activities.
  • Helps employees improve upon or enhance existing skills.
  • May be involved in initial plan design and existing plan enhancements.
  • Participate in instructional design knowledge sharing sessions.


 

 

 

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Requires 2 years of experience in classroom and in-store training.
  • Requires 2+ years’ experience in the retail tire and / or automotive service industry.
  • A clearly demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with District Managers, Store Managers and store staff.
  • A clearly demonstrated ability to influence behavior change in others
  • A thorough understanding of basic adult learning principles and ability to model those principles
  • A high degree of proficiency with classroom facilitation skills
  • Specific knowledge in the areas of performing vehicle inspections, wheel alignment checks, tire service and oil changes.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in presenting vehicle inspection results, oil change options, wheel alignment results and tire service options
  • Significant knowledge and experience in using the CARS point of sale system
  • Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative with course delivery
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Works with minimum level of supervision.
