General Service Technician

Job Description


Our General Service Technician position provides candidates with the perfect starting point for an automotive repair career. Previous experience, while desirable, is not required. Using computer based and facilitated learning sessions, as well as On the Job Training our Associates are provided the knowledge and skills to maximize their earnings and achieve their professional goals. As a front line Associate our GS’s perform a variety of tasks from changing and repairing tires, stocking and maintaining our warehouses, shop maintenance and housekeeping to light automotive repairs. For those who aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty, a GS position has launched the careers of countless members of management, including some of the top executives in our company and industry.

A General Service Technician position might not be for everyone. A typical GS will be required to work a flexible retail schedule including nights, weekends and some holidays. Our work environment is a challenging one, requiring regular lifting of up to 75 pounds, exposure to inclement weather as well as the noise and environment associated with an auto repair facility, and there will be long hours standing, walking and crouching during repairs while providing world class service to our customers. GS techs will be required to perform other duties including general shop housekeeping, as assigned by supervisory personnel.  Additionally our GS candidates should have the following skills sets: and outstanding work ethic, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, ability to work well with other Associates, and the experience or aptitude to provide outstanding customer service in a high volume setting.

Mounts, balances, repairs and replaces tires, performs basic vehicle maintenance and helps stock and maintain our stores.
