Database Administrator - Full Time


The Database Administrator is responsible for entering and maintaining accurate gift and donor records in the database, and for assisting Branch and Association staff to use donor data effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Uses and troubleshoots Financial Development systems, including Raiser’s Edge, Researcher’s Edge, Information Edge, ICVerify, Blackbaud NetCommunity, AS400, and Custom Imports including lockbox
  • Creates and explains new reports, queries, and exports as needed for branch and Association staff.
  • Shares responsibility with the Financial Development Analyst for the data integrity of the Raiser’s Edge database.  Ensuring data accuracy will involve: merging duplicate records, performing global changes, running audit queries regularly, committing batches, etc.
  • Staffs the online help desk for Raiser’s Edge. 
  • Updates/maintains data entry procedure guide.
  • Enters data to the donor database, including gifts, pledges, biographical information, event registrations, contact reports, and any other data required for financial development purposes.
  • Leads the Raiser’s Edge Data Entry Team and is a resource for questions when the Financial Development Analyst is out of the office.


Qualifications - Required

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in financial development or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years donor database experience
  • Experience with donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge 7, Researcher’s Edge, Information Edge, ICVerify, or Blackbaud NetCommunity
  • Computer and PC proficiency in custom imports including (lockbox) and Microsoft Office 2000 suite of products
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of a financial development operation, including  advancement services
  • Demonstrated time management, triage, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in financial development
  • Knowledge of IRS laws regulating contributions
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, using independent discretion and judgment
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, donors, and volunteers
  • Flexibility to support, as needed, the time-sensitive functions of financial development activities (such as special events)
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications - Required

  • Experience with AS400

Physical Demands

  • Ability to operate a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel locally to attend meetings and events.
