POSITION SUMMARY:

The Membership and Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the office in member services and will assist in the marketing of YMCA programs.  This position is also responsible for ensuring the successful daily operation of specified youth programs, including program quality, staffing, and adherence to state regulations, accreditation requirements, and YMCA guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Entrepreneur, Leadership, Collaboration and Community Outreach
  • Strong writing skills, experience with social media and strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Develop and execute Branch messaging and marketing.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts through promotions and special events.
  • Greets everyone in a friendly manner and answers phone using the proper YMCA greeting, and takes complete messages.
  • Using informational tools provided and computer system, efficiently and accurately answers questions and complaints from members both in person and over the telephone.
  • Assists in program registration for all members
  • Read all memos, newsletters and reference manual updates and complies with policies and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in all YMCA programs and activities, as well as directors and key staff job responsibilities.
  • Assist in regular staff meetings and trainings.
  • Serves as an integral member of the total staff team.
  • Consistently provides friendly, courteous assistance, exceeding customer expectations every day, which includes building and maintaining healthy professional relationships with customers, staff, and host agencies.
  • Supports and contributes to a safe, clean environment for staff and customers by implementing appropriate safety procedures and following YMCA guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; college or advanced course work preferred.
  2. Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  3. Represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner.
  4. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with members, staff, and others contacted in the course of the work.
  5. Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs
